A boy and our dog

Saturday night, we went to dinner with our next door neighbors and their 10-month-old son, J. It was J.'s first time at a restaurant, and he had a great time just looking around at everything there was to see.

After dinner we all went back to our house for dessert, and the fun began. Maggie was a little excited to have company. She ran from person to person, room to room, wound up like you wouldn't believe. If J. was on the floor, he was crawling after her. He LOVES Maggie, but fortunately he isn't quite quick enough to keep up with her. He likes to grab fur and ears and whatever he can get his hands on, and he doesn't relinquish it easily.

The love affair is mutual—Mags loves J. too. But after one grabbing episode, she learned her lesson and stuck to occasional "drive-by" kisses.

Big sloppy kiss

When J. saw her coming, he'd brace himself for the onslaught and then giggle like crazy when it was over. Believe it or not, he's actually pretty happy in this picture.
