Ode to a Cheese Curd
My first taste was when I was just a wee sprite,
I was completely addicted after just one bite.
Now here it is, more than 30 years later,
And your yummy flavor has never been greater.
Greasy and golden and squeaky and fried,
If I couldn't have had you, I would've cried.
You're the whole reason for my trip to the Fair,
After I tasted you I walked on air.
But now it's all over and I must try to forget,
The mere thought causes me to break out in a cold sweat.
It'll be a long three hundred sixty-five days' time,
'Til I once again taste your goodness sublime.
